POUGHKEEPSIE, NY. – Junior
Morgan Lee recorded a double double to lead the Marist women's basketball team past Lafayette, 73-41, inside McCann Arena on Wednesday evening. The 32-point margin of victory is the largest for the Red Foxes since their 69-30 win over Saint Peter's on March 13, 2021.

Lexie Tarul led the Red Foxes with 13 points, while junior
Ciara Croker added 12 points in the victory.
With the win, Marist improved to 2-1 on the early campaign, while Lafayette fell to 1-2 to open the season.

After Lafayette opened the scoring, Marist went on a 14-0 run to establish control of the game. The Red Foxes dominated the opening quarter, taking a 21-8 lead into the second. The offense was efficient from beyond the arc with
Jackie Piddock,
Danielle Williamsen, and
Julia Corsentino all scoring from distance to extend the lead.
Catie Cunningham led the Red Foxes with four points and secured three rebounds in the opening quarter.

Marist opened the second quarter with a 6-1 run to continue their early dominance with a 27-9 lead. The eighteen point lead was the Red Foxes' largest of the first half. The Leopards responded with a 7-0 run of their own to tighten the gap, but the Red Foxes took a 32-20 lead into halftime.
Morgan Lee went into halftime with eight points and seven rebounds, leading the Red Foxes in both categories.

The Red Foxes opened the second half with a 12-5 run, forcing a Lafayette timeout.
Ciara Croker knocked down a pair of shots to put the Red Foxes ahead 53-27. Crocker paced the Red Foxes with six points and a steal in the third quarter. Marist took a 57-31 lead into the final quarter.

The Red Foxes continued to build their lead late in the game.
Lexie Tarul opened the fourth quarter scoring with a three-pointer to extend the Red Foxes' lead to 29.
Julia Corsentino had a strong final quarter off the bench with five points and a defensive rebound. The Red Foxes won 73-41, their largest victory since 2021.
