FAIRFAX, Virginia- The Marist women's swim and dive team completed its second day of action at the Patriot Invitational, Friday night. April Avila set the school record in the 100-yard breaststroke on the second day of competition.

Amazing April

• April Avila broke the Marist school record in the 100-yard breaststroke during the preliminary event and proceeded to break her own record in the finals.
• Avila finished the preliminary event with a new school record of 1:01.66, placing first for the final heat.
• Avila continued her dominance in the event with a first-place finish and a new school record with a time of 1:00.94.
• Avila is the second Red Foxes swimmer to break a Marist school record at the Patriot Invitational (James Conable 200-yard IM).

  

Notable Finishes, Swim

• The Red Foxes had finalists on day two of competition at the Patriot Invitational.
• In the first solo event of the night, Eydis Kolbeinsdottir led the Red Foxes in the 100-yard butterfly. Kolbeinsdottir placed seventh overall out of 24 finalists with a time of 56.59.
  • Sophia Swanson placed next for the Red Foxes, right behind Kolbeinsdottir, with an eighth-place finish. Swanson swam her way to an impressive finish with a time of 57.02.
• Bridget Rynkiewicz led the Red Foxes in the 400-yard IM, finishing the highest overall out of the Red Foxes. Rynkiewicz swam to a 10^th place finish with a time of 4:28.54 in the event.
  • Sabrina Conrad was the next Red Fox to finish in the event, with a 17^th place finish. Conrad finished the event with a time of 4:31. 60.
• Charlotte Lepis had an outstanding swim for the Red Foxes in the 200-yard freestyle. Lepis swam her way to a fifth-place finish with an impressive time of 1:52.80.
• Rae Dodson had an impressive performance in the 100-yard breaststroke, which placed her fifth overall in the finals. Dodson swam her way to an impressive time of 1:02.85.
• Genevieve O'Neil placed the highest for the Red Foxes in the 100-yard backstroke finals. O'Neil swam her way to a 21^st place finish with a time of 58.36.

  

Notable Finishes, Dive

• Morgan Cassidy finished 16^th overall in the one-meter dive finals, the only Red Fox to make the finals in diving.
• Cassidy finished with a score of 178.05 in the one-meter dive.
