Red Foxes Open 2024-25 Campaign at Drexel on Thursday

Women's Basketball Returns to the Court vs. 2024 CAA Tournament Champs

PHILADELPHIA, Pa. - The Marist women's basketball team opens its 2024-25 slate on Thursday evening, as the Red Foxes take on Drexel. Tip-off from the Daskalakis Athletic Center is set for 7 p.m. on FloSports.
 
LAST TIME OUT
  • The Red Foxes return to action for the first time since having their season ended at the hands of Mount St. Mary's in the opening round of the MAAC Tournament, 60-47, on March 12, 2024.
  • Morgan Lee led Marist with 20 points, eight rebounds, two blocks, and two assists in the loss.
  • Catie Cunningham added 12 points, five rebounds, and three blocks.
LEADER OF THE PACK
  • Head Coach Erin Doughty is in her second season at the helm of the Red Foxes in 2023-24.
  • Doughty earned her first victory as a Div. I head coach in Marist's 76-68 victory over Army in the 2023-24 season-opener on Nov. 9, inside of McCann Arena.
  • Doughty earned her first conference victory as a Div. I head coach in Marist's 65-55 victory over Rider on Jan. 12, 2024, inside of McCann Arena.

SCOUTING THE DRAGONS

  • Drexel was picked to finish second in the CAA Preseason Coaches' Poll, earning two first-place votes along the way.
  • Drexel returns CAA Tournament MOP Amaris Baker (11.7 ppg, 4.1 rpg) and Chloe Hodges (8.6 ppg, 5.1 rpg) to the roster.
HISTORY VS DREXEL
  • Thursday's contest against Drexel will mark Marist's third contest against the Dragons.
  • The Red Foxes are 1-1 all-time against the Dragons.
  • Drexel came away with a 51-34 victory over Marist in last season's meeting in Poughkeepsie on Dec. 6, 2023.
