SMITHFIELD, RI – Morgan Lee scored a career-high 21 points and added seven rebounds to lead Marist women's basketball past Bryant on the road, 63-52, inside the Chace Athletic Center on Saturday afternoon.
The Red Foxes held the Bulldogs to just five points in the final frame en route to winning its 700th game as a Div. I program.

With the win, Marist improved to 5-4 on the early campaign, while Bryant fell to 7-2 to open the season.

The Red Foxes got off to a hot start, using the opening 5:30 of the contest to jump out to a 13-6 lead into the media timeout, led by a quick seven points from
Morgan Lee.
The Red Foxes outpaced the Bulldogs 8-7 the remainder of the frame to carry a 21-13 advantage into the second quarter.

Marist turned up the defensive intensity to open the second, forcing Bryant to shoot 1-for-7 over the first five minutes of the frame, pushing the lead to 26-15. After Marist built its lead to 29-15, the Bulldogs closed the half with a 10-1 run to trim the Red Fox lead to 30-25 going into halftime.

Bryant kept its foot on the gas to open the third, using the first 8:20 of the half to outpace Marist 19-11 to take a 44-41 lead over the Red Foxes before a timeout was called with 1:37 left in the period. After falling behind 47-41, the Red Foxes closed the frame with a 4-0 run to bring the deficit to 47-45 entering the final quarter.

After Bryant pushed its lead to 50-45 Marist responded with an 11-2 run, forcing a timeout from the Bulldogs with the Red Foxes leading 56-52.
Out of the break, the Red Foxes extended the lead to seven after
Danielle Williamsen drilled a three from the wing.
The deficit proved to be too much for the Bulldogs, as the Red Foxes eventually held on for the 63-52 victory over Bryant.
