POUGHKEEPSIE, New York - The Marist men's lacrosse team defeated the Jacksonville Dolphins by a score of 9-8 in a thrilling contest at Tenney Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
Overtime was needed to separate the two teams and
Jake Deacy came through for the Red Foxes, scoring the game-winning goal with 33 seconds left.

- In the first minutes of the game, Jackson Intrieri scored to put Jacksonville on top early, 1-0 with 10:12 to go.
- The Dolphins quickly put away another two goals to extend their lead over the Red Foxes, 3-0. The first scored by Ethan LaMond off the assist by Jack Taylor and the second by Charlie DiGennaro for his first career college goal.
- The Red Foxes, with 3:59 to go, cut into the deficit with a goal from Sean Mullan to put Marist on the board, 3-1.
- At the end of the first quarter, the Dolphins led the Red Foxes, 3-1.
- Chris Darmino continued the offensive dominance for Jacksonville, scoring his first goal to extend the lead to 4-1.
- The Red Foxes answered back with a goal from Joshua Balcarcel to bring the game to within two, leaving the score at 4-2.
- Jacksonville's Nicky Brown scored a heavily contested goal to bring their lead back to three, extending the lead to 5-2 with 3:50 to go.
- Marist would be held to one goal in the second.
- Jackson Intrieri was assisted by Jacob Greiner for the Dolphin goal, extending their lead 6-2.
- Marist swiftly responded with a goal from Sean Mullan off the assist from Christian Colantonio to cut into the lead, 6-3.
- Colantonio then fired a shot of his own into the goal, assisted by Balcarcel, bringing the game to within two at 6-4.
- The Red Foxes continued their run with two more goals from Drew Anderson with 2:24 to go, his first two of the season.
- Marist's 4-0 run left the game tied at 6 going into the fourth.
- Jacksonville scored first in the fourth with a goal by William Krupsky and an assist from Nicky Brown to go back in front, 7-6.
- Marist's Drew Anderson immediately tied the game back up with a hat trick, 7-7.
- In back and forth action, Tucker Garrity retook the lead for the Dolphins 8-7, forcing Marist into a timeout with 3:45 to go.
- Anderson once again scored for the Red Foxes, tying the game once more at 8-8.
- At the end of regulation, the score was all even at 8-8.
- The Red Foxes, in sudden death, scored a goal from Jake Deacy, who was assisted by Sean Mullan.Â
- The Red Foxes will travel to Amherst to face off against UMass on Tuesday, February 20.
- The game is set to start at 3 p.m.
