HEMPSTEAD, New York - The Marist men's lacrosse team defeated the Hofstra Pride 12-10 on Saturday afternoon at James M. Shuart Stadium.
With the victory, Marist improves to 3-1 on the season, while Hoftstra falls to 3-2.
- Hofstra scored the only two goals of the second quarter to cut into the Marist lead, making it 5-4 at halftime.
- Bickel opened the scoring in the second half, as he bounced in his second goal of the game to put Marist up two.
- The Pride responded quickly with a goal to make it 6-5.
- Sam Ferrel fired one in for the Red Foxes, pushing the lead back to two at 7-5.
- Hofstra countered with two quick goals, tying the score at 7-7.
- Marist took advantage of a man-up situation to start the fourth. Mullan found the back of the net on an assist by Butrico, making it 8-7.
- Ferrel found the back of the net for his second of the day to give the Red Foxes a two goal advantage.
- Hofstra responded with two goals to tie the score at 9-9 with 5:05 remaining in the game.
