BOILING SPRINGS, North Carolina – The Marist softball team won its fourth straight game on Sunday.
 
The Red Foxes closed out play in the Red & Black Classic with a 6-2 victory over host Gardner-Webb.
 
Summary

• Marist opened the scoring in first, when Haley Ahr's sacrifice fly brought home Miah McDonald.
• After Gardner-Webb tied the game in the bottom of the second, Marist re-claimed the lead in the third when McDonald's sacrifice fly brought in Peyton Pusey.
• Gardner-Webb loaded the bases with one out in the fourth, but Anna Sidlowski recorded two strikeouts to end the inning.
• The Red Foxes added three in the fifth on an RBI triple from McDonald and RBI doubles from Maddie Pleasants and Ahr.
• Pusey led off the seventh with a double, and scored on a fielder's choice off the bat of Ahr.
• Gardner-Webb added one in the bottom of the seventh.

• Pusey went 2-for-4 with a double and three runs scored.
• Ahr went 1-for-3 with three RBIs, a double, and a sacrifice fly.
• McDonald went 2-for-2 with two runs scored, two RBIs, a triple, a hit by pitch, a sacrifice fly, and a stolen base.
• Alyssa Grupp went 2-for-4 with a double.
• Sidlowski went the distance to improve to 3-1. She struck out six and walked just one.

• Marist is now 6-4 on the season.
