Red Foxes Head to Louisville For Second-Ever Matchup With Bellarmine

LOUISVILLE, Kentucky – The Marist men's lacrosse team looks to improve to 4-1 as the Red Foxes head to Louisville for a Saturday matchup with Bellarmine at noon on ESPN+.
 
LAST TIME OUT
  • The Marist men's lacrosse team defeated the Hofstra Pride 12-10 on Saturday afternoon at James M. Shuart Stadium.
  • Sean Mullan recorded his first hat trick of the season to lead the way.
  • Ferrel, Butrico, and Bickel added two goals apiece.
  • Noble Smith had 13 saves in the win.
  • Dylan Bedell tallied a team-high four groundballs and won seven faceoffs.
MULLAN'S THE MAN
  • Sean Mullan of the Marist men's lacrosse team was named the MAAC Co-Rookie of the Week announced Monday by the conference office. 
  • Mullan is the fifth Marist player to receive a MAAC weekly award this season. Joshua BalcarcelDylan BedellCollin Patrick, and Noble Smith have garnered an award apiece this season.
  • In a 1-1 week, Mullan totaled four goals for four points and a groundball. He opened the week with a goal and a groundball in Marist's loss at UMass. On Sunday, he followed that performance with a hat trick in Marist's road victory over Hofstra.
  • On the season, Mullan boasts seven goals and eight points, the second-most on the Red Foxes in both categories.
SCOUTING BELLARMINE
  • Marist will take on Bellarmine for the second time in program history.
  • Bellarmine is 1-0 against Marist in its only matchup, downing the Red Foxes, 13-10, in Poughkeepsie on Feb. 26, 2023.
  • Jamison Embury led the Red Foxes with five goals in the loss.
  • The Knights are 2-3 on the season.
  • Bellarmine downed Hampton 23-7 in its last time out this past Tuesday.
  • John Allie leads the Knights with 14 goals on the season, while Benny O'Rourke and Kyle Playsted boast 10 goals apiece, respectively.
UP NEXT
  • The Red Foxes will be back in action on Saturday, March 9, when Marist travels to take on Wagner to open MAAC play
  • The opening face-off is set for 6 p.m.
