ATLANTIC CITY, New Jersey – The Marist men's basketball team is ready to begin play in the 2024 Hercules Tires Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Championship.
The third-seeded Red Foxes (17-12 overall, 12-8 MAAC) will take on sixth-seeded Niagara (16-15, 11-9) in a quarterfinal contest on Thursday at 6:30 p.m.
- Dean Darling (play-by-play) and Steve Eggink (analyst) will have the audio call for all of Marist's games in the championship on the Red Fox Network. Coverage for each game will begin 15 minutes prior to tip-off on the Red Fox Network and Varsity Network app.
- The entire championship will be covered on the ESPN Family of Networks. The opening and quarterfinal rounds will be carried on ESPN+. The semifinal will air on ESPNEWS. The championship game will be televised on ESPNU.

- The Red Foxes clinched the #3 seed on the season's final day with a dramatic 63-62 victory over Niagara on Josh Pascarelli's game-winning mid-range jumper with 2.7 seconds remaining.
- The Red Foxes started 7-2, which included a five-game winning streak. After a four-game losing streak, the Red Foxes alternated wins and losses for three weeks until reeling off another five-game winning streak in February.
- Marist was at or above .500 after every game this season, and after game in conference play.
- Marist #3 seed in the MAAC Championship is the program's best since 2007.
- Through March 12, Marist ranks seventh in the NCAA in scoring defense (62.2 ppg).
- Max Allen II's Second Team All-MAAC selection marked the third year in a row that Marist had a Second Team selection.
- Josh Pascarelli's All-Rookie Team selection marked the fifth straight year Marist has had a MAAC All-Rookie Team honoree. The Red Foxes have had six All-Rookie selections in that time. Both of these totals lead the MAAC.
- In each of its last four wins, Marist has trailed by at least eight in the first half.
- The teams split this year's season series, with each one winning at home.
- Six of the last 10 meetings have been decided by five points or less, and four have been decided by one or two points.
- Since the start of the 2010-11 season, Marist and Niagara have played 31, with Marist holding a 16-15 edge. The total points scored in these games is 2,180 for Niagara, and 2,154 for Marist.
- This is the eighth meeting between Marist and Niagara in MAAC Championship history. This makes the Purple Eagles the most frequent opponent of the Red Foxes in championship play, breaking a tie with Iona.
