LOUISVILLE, KY. – Collin Patrick totaled three goals for a hat trick, as Marist men's lacrosse came up short on the road at Bellarmine, 11-10, Saturday afternoon inside Owsley B. Frazier Stadium.
With the loss, Marist dropped to 3-2 on the campaign, while Bellarmine improved to 3-3 in the 2024 season.

- Bellarmine struck twice before Marist got on the board with back-to-back goals from Christian Colantonio and Jake Deacy.
- The Knights responded to retake the lead with 2:03 left in the first, before taking a 4-2 lead into the second.
- Stephen Bickel found Vinny Butrico down low for a score to cut the Marist deficit to one before Bellarmine struck back not too long after to extend the lead to 5-3.
- The Knights added to their lead with a second goal in the frame to push its advantage to 6-3 before the media timeout at 7:07 in the quarter.
- After falling behind 7-3, Colantonio stopped the bleeding with his second goal of the day to cut the deficit to three with 5:05 left in the half.
- After nearly seven minutes of action without a goal, Collin Patrick struck twice within 10 seconds for two goals to trim the Marist deficit to 7-6.
- However, Bellarmine responded five seconds later to extend the lead to two, forcing a Marist timeout with 8:02 left in the third quarter.
- From the timeout, Joshua Balcarcel answered the bell and scored a goal to trim the deficit to one with 7:53 left in the third quarter.
- Bickel found the back of the net as well in the frame, scoring an unassisted goal to tie the contest at 8-8 with 2:36 left in the third.
- Patrick opened the frame with a goal to secure the hat trick, as well as give Marist its first lead of the day at 9-8.
- Bickel immediately followed with his second of the afternoon to extend the Red Fox lead to 10-8.
- The Knights responded with three straight goals to push ahead 11-10 with 5:57 left in regulation, before holding on for the eventual one-goal victory.
- Collin Patrick led the offense with three goals and two assists for a career-high five points
- The hat trick was the second of the season for Patrick
- Stephen Bickel and Christian Colantonio added two goals apiece in the contest
- Bickel tacked on an assist for three points
- The Red Foxes will be back in action on Saturday, March 9, when Marist travels to take on Wagner to open MAAC play
- The opening face-off is set for 6 p.m.
