Marist Continues Home MAAC Slate With Quinnipiac Saturday

Red Foxes to Host Bobcats Inside Tenney Stadium Saturday at 1 PM

POUGHKEEPSIE, New York – The Marist men's lacrosse team aims to win its second straight MAAC victory, as the Red Foxes play host to Quinnipiac on Saturday at 1 p.m. inside Tenney Stadium.
 
EAT A SUB, MAKE A DIFFERENCE
  • Jersey Mike's at 34 Winslow Gate Road near Marist College has selected People USA as the charity partner for their Month of Giving. All month long, this fundraiser will inspire customers to donate to a great cause.
  • On Wednesday, March 27th, Jersey Mike's at 34 Winslow Gate Road will donate 100% of sales to People USA as part of its Day of Giving.
  • Jersey Mike's will give away  $20 gift cards during the Marist men's lacrosse contest on Saturday.
LAST TIME OUT
  • Stephen Bickel and Jake Deacy recorded a hat trick apiece, as Marist men's lacrosse earned its first MAAC victory of the season with a 20-16 win over Canisius Saturday afternoon inside Tenney Stadium on March 16.
  • Seven different Red Foxes scored two goals apiece, led by Bickel and Deacy's three scores each.
  • Deacy has totaled three hat tricks this season and has done so in back-to-back contests

CLOSING IN ON 100
  • Men's lacrosse head coach Keegan Wilkinson is the all-time winningest coach in program-history, boasting 95 career wins.
  • Wilkinson has double the wins of the next closest coach in Marist's all-time wins.
  • Wilkinson is five wins away from becoming the first Marist men's lacrosse coach to tally 100 wins in their career.
 
BEDELL'S A BALLER
  • Dylan Bedell of the Marist men's lacrosse team was named the MAAC Face-Off Player of the Week, announced Monday by the conference office. This marks the second time this season that Bedell has garnered the award.
  • This is the eighth time this season that a Marist player has received a MAAC weekly award. Joshua Balcarcel, Aidan McCaffrey, Noble Smith, and Sean Mullan have garnered an award apiece this season, while this is Bedell's second award of the campaign, matching Patrick. 
  • In a 1-0 weekend, Bedell went 21-for-37 (.568) in face-off attempts, collected eight groundballs, and added a goal and two assists to help lead Marist past Canisius at home for its first MAAC win of 2024.  
SCOUTING QUINNIPIAC
  • Marist will take on Quinnipiac for the 21st time in program history.
  • Marist is 11-9 all-time against Quinnipiac, with a 7-5 record at home.
  • The last time the two sides faced off, the Red Foxes came away with a 29-19 victory over the Bobcats in the MAAC Semifinals on April 29, 2023 in Poughkeepsie.
  • The 29 goals are the most in Marist men's lacrosse history.
  • Jamison Embury and Jojo Pirreca led the way with eight points each.
  • Jake Deacy had 6 points on five goals and one assist.
  • 10 different Red Foxes scored.
  • Quinnipiac enters the contest at 6-0 on the season and 2-0 in MAAC play.
  • The Bobcats are averaging 14.3 goals per game.
  • Dylan Donnery boasts 19 goals and seven assists for 26 points on the season.
  • Ryan Donnery adds 12 goals and 15 assists for 27 points on the campaign.
