Red Foxes Open MAAC Play at Wagner Saturday

Marist MLAX Starts Conference Competition With Wagner

STATEN ISLAND, New York – The Marist men's lacrosse team aims to open MAAC play at 1-0 when the Red Foxes travel to take on Wagner to begin its conference title defense. Face-off is set for 3 p.m. on ESPN+.
 
LAST TIME OUT
  • Collin Patrick totaled three goals for a hat trick, as Marist men's lacrosse came up short on the road at Bellarmine, 11-10, Saturday afternoon inside Owsley B. Frazier Stadium.
  • The hat trick was the second of the season for Patrick.

MONSTER McCAFFREY
  •  Aiden McCaffrey of the Marist men's lacrosse team was named the MAAC Defensive of the Week announced Monday by the conference office.
  • In the Red Foxes' lone contest at Bellarmine, McCaffrey totaled a career-high six caused turnovers and added four groundballs against the Knights on the road.
  • McCaffrey's 16 caused turnovers on the season are tops in the nation, while his 3.2 caused turnovers per game rank second in the nation, respectively.
COOL COLLIN
  • Collin Patrick was named the MAAC Rookie of the Week this week as well.
  • Patrick tallied three goals and two assists for five points in Saturday's contest at Bellarmine.
  • He scored 4 points in the second half to lead a Marist comeback on the road at Bellarmine before eventually falling by a goal.
  • On the season, Patrick ranks second on the team in goals (nine), assists (3), and points (12).
SCOUTING WAGNER
  • Marist will take on Wagner for the 13th time in program history.
