HAMDEN, Conn. – Ciara Croker scored a team-high 14 points to lead the Marist women's basketball team in its loss against Quinnipiac on the road, 51-42, Saturday afternoon inside M&T Bank Arena.
With the loss, Marist heads into the postseason with a 6-24 record and 4-16 mark in the MAAC, while Quinnipiac improved to 12-17 overall and 9-11 in conference play on the 2023-24 season.

The two sides were even through the first 6:39 of action at 7-7, before Marist closed the frame with a 7-3 run, capped by a
Julia Corsentino three-pointer to give the Red Foxes a 14-10 lead into the second.

After Quinnipiac trimmed the Marist lead to 14-12, the Red Foxes responded with a 9-2 run, capped by a
Catie Cunningham jumper to force a timeout from the Bobcats with Marist leading 23-14 with 6:36 left in the half.

Out of the timeout, the Bobcats closed the half with a 10-0 run to take a 24-23 lead into the half over the Red Foxes.

The Bobcats opened the half with a 7-1 run before Marist called a timeout, trailing 31-24 with 5:06 left in the third. After falling behind 34-24, the Red Foxes closed the frame with an 8-4 run, led by six points from Lexi Tarul to trim the Marist deficit to 38-32 into the fourth.

The Red Foxes hit a scoring drought in the fourth, as the Bobcats outpaced them 8-2 before Marist took a timeout with 5:33, trailing 46-34. The deficit proved to be too great for the Red Foxes, as they eventually fell, 51-42.
