Women's Lacrosse Topped By Siena

McNaboe Collects 100th Career Draw Control

POUGHKEEPSIE, New York - The Marist women's lacrosse team fell to Siena, 13-7, on Wednesday afternoon at Tenney Stadium.
 
First Quarter
  • Marist struck first in the early minutes of the game, with a goal scored by Gabby Kingston. The score was 1-0 with 12:39 minutes to go in the first quarter.
  • Siena answered shortly after with a shot from Kelly Logue, tying the game at 1-1 with 10:50 to go.
  • Elizabeth Womp fired a shot into the back of the goal to put the Saints ahead 2-1 with 7:08 to go in the first.
  • After a penalty, Taryn Asselin scored a goal to extend the Saints lead, 3-1.
  • Siena's offense did not let up as Jordan Bentley put away another goal to extend the lead to 4-1.
  • The Saints extended their lead to 5-1 on a Kelly Logue goal with 3:23 left to go in the first quarter. 
  • Asselin scored her second goal of the game with 2:36 left to go, extending Siena's lead to 6-1.
  • The Red Foxes ended the Saints' run with a goal scored by Kelly Gutenberger, cutting into the lead 6-2.
  • Siena quickly scored yet again with only 1:13 left to go, shot by Meghan Decker, extending their lead to 7-2 going into the second quarter. 
Second Quarter
  • Bentley put away another goal after a penalty, extending the lead to 8-2 with 8:40 to go in the second.
  • Gutenberger scored a goal to cut into the lead 8-3 with 7:45 to go.
  • Gutenberger quickly fired another goal for the hat trick, further cutting into the lead 8-4.
  • Bentley scored for her own hat trick, extending the Saints lead to 9-4 with 3:48 to go in the second..
Third Quarter
  • Marist opened up the third quarter with a goal scored by Olivia Arntsen, cutting into the lead 9-5.
  • With 5:55 left to go in the third quarter, Logue scored for the Saints, extending their lead to 10-5. Logue is the third player in the game to have a hat trick.
  • The Saints received a goal from Meghan Decker, extending the lead to 11-5 with 3:32 to go.
  • Siena's Grace Dobryznski scored with 2:12 left to go in the quarter, extending the lead to 12-5.
  • Marist's Caitlin McNaboe ends Siena's run, assisted by Kelly Trotta, leaving the score at 12-6 Siena going into the fourth quarter.
Fourth Quarter
  • The Saints further extended their lead 13-6 with an early fourth quarter goal from Rebecca Gilhooley.
  • With 2:58 left to go in the game, Chloe Birckhead scored a goal for Marist assisted by Gutenberger. The Red Foxes cut into the deficit, 13-7, but that closed out the scoring.
