Red Foxes Host LIU for Senior Day

Men's Lacrosse Welcomes Sharks to Tenney for 2024 Home Finale

POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. – The Marist men's lacrosse team welcomes MAAC foe LIU to Tenney Stadium on Saturday, as the Red Foxes take on the Sharks in the 2024 home finale at 7 p.m. The Red Foxes will celebrate its seniors for Senior Day with a ceremoney beginning at 6:30 p.m.
 
LAST TIME OUT
  • The Marist men's lacrosse team picked up a gutsy 14-13 win over conference-rival Siena in a nationally televised battle at Tenney Stadium on Wednesday night.
  • Peter Murray recorded a career-high four goals, his third game with at least three goals this season.
  • Joshua Balcarcel tallied his fourth game with five or more points.
  • Balcarcel recorded his 50th career goal in the win.
  • Jake Deacy added his 22nd and 23rd goals of the year.
  • Noble Smith had 15 saves on the night.
 
CLOSING IN ON 100
  • Men's lacrosse head coach Keegan Wilkinson is the all-time winningest coach in program-history, boasting 97 career wins.
  • Wilkinson has double the wins of the next closest coach in Marist's all-time wins.

  • Aiden McCaffrey ranks second in the nation in caused turnovers (30) and third in caused turnovers per game (2.50).

EVERYONE EATS
  • Aiden McCaffrey of the Marist men's lacrosse team was named as the MAAC Defensive Player of the Week, announced Monday by the conference office. This marks the second time this season that McCaffrey has garnered the award.
  • This marked the 10th time this season that a Marist player has received a MAAC weekly award.
  • Joshua Balcarcel, Noble Smith and Sean Mullan have garnered an award apiece this season.
  • McCaffrey, alongside Collin Patrick have each earned MAAC honors twice this season, while Dylan Bedell has had three MAAC weekly selections.
 
SCOUTING LIU
  • Saturday's contest with LIU will mark the second matchup all-time for these two teams.
  • The last time these two played, Marist came away with a 16-10 victory over LIU on April 15, 2023 on the road.
  • Jake Deacy led the offense with three goals, while four other Red Foxes scored two goals apiece in the victory.
  • LIU is 9-2 on the year coming into this matchup and are 6-1 in conference play.
