Brown, Haggerty Finish First to Lead Men's Track & Field

Red Foxes Shine in Field Events

POUGHKEEPSIE, New York - The Marist men's track & field team delivered stellar individual performances at Friday's Vassar Twilight. The Red Foxes did particularly well in the field events, with two student-athletes securing first-place finishes. 

Noah Brown vaulted a season best 4.25 meters (13 feet, 11.25 inches) in the pole vault to finish first. Simon Advento finished right behind him in second with a personal best height of 3.80 meters (12 feet, 5.5 inches).

In the javelin throw, Liam Haggerty captured first place with a personal best toss of 44.49 meters (145 feet, 11 inches). Derek Paolella secured third place with a personal best throw of 40.43 meters (132 feet, 7 inches).

Chris Paxis claimed second place in the 800-meter run, finishing in a season best time of 1:54.32. Matthew Ferreri (1:56.20, 4th) ran a personal best and Tyler Perry (1:57.01, 5th) ran a season best to give the Red Foxes three top-five finishers in the race.

With a personal best time of 4:04.38 in the 1,500-meter run, Alexander Ushchak finished in third place.

Kevin Lee gave Marist another third-place finisher as he set a new personal best of 6.56 meters (21 feet, 6.25 inches) in the long jump.
