POUGHKEEPSIE, New York - The Marist track & field season concluded this past weekend with a remarkable showcase of talent, as two Red Foxes etched their names in the school's history books through record-breaking performances.
At the West Point Twilight, graduating senior
Chris Paxis left his mark on the Marist program, seizing the record for the 1,500-meter in his final race as a Red Fox. His time of 3:48.61 eclipses the previous record of 3:49.61, set in 2009 by Adam Vess.
As the sole participant representing the Red Foxes at the IC4A Championships,
Easton Eberwein achieved a significant milestone by earning his fifth school record. With a time of 49.05 seconds, Eberwein captured the outdoor 400-meter dash school record, surpassing the previous record of 49.30 set by Brian DeMarco in 2005. Notably, Eberwein already holds the indoor 400-meter dash record from this past indoor season, solidifying his dominance both indoors and outdoors.
Paxis adds to his impressive tally, securing his fourth school record alongside his contributions to record-breaking performances in the indoor Distance Medley Relay (DMR), as well as the outdoor 4x800 and 4x1500 events.
Eberwein's impact extends beyond the 400-meter dash records, as he also played crucial roles in setting records in the DMR, Sprint Medley Relay, and 4x400 events.
