Who We are Racing
There are 35 entries in the Varsity Fours category. Of that group, at least three subgroups are represented. First are the D1 programs racing members of their 3rd or 4th eights in the V4 event. These are Cal, Dartmouth, Navy, Northeastern, UW, Harvard, Brown, BU, Syracuse, Princeton, Drexel, Penn, Stanford, Cornell, Georgetown, Columbia, MIT, LaSalle, and Wisco. Next are D3 Programs Williams, Trinity, Bates, RIT, and Adrian. The first 3 of these are already represented in the D3 eights and so this four is their 3rd varsity athletes, RIT and Adrian will have their top 4. The final group are non qualified D1 programs sending their top four oarsmen. This group includes FIT, Holy Cross, Stetson, OKC, Colgate, USD, Marist, Marietta, Iona, St. Joe's, and Hobart.
Coach's Comments:
Overall, the competition is DEEP in this event and with some of the country's fastest squads sending their lower athletes and some of the smaller teams sending their top fours it promises to be an exciting weekend at all levels. The Marist four has an initial goal of making the cut for the top 3 A/B/C semi finals and we're laser focused on delivering the BEST possible time trial result on Friday morning to achieve this goal. Updates will emerge on our social media on Instagram and Facebook on Friday and Saturday about our progression through the event and exact race times. Thanks as always for cheering on the crew. We look forward to seeing some of you in NJ this weekend and enjoying the support of the remainder from afar! Go Red Foxes!
