LAWRENCEVILLE, New Jersey - The Marist track & field team had a successful first day at the MAAC Outdoor Championships.

Kevin Lee broke a 49-year-old school record in the long jump, securing a third-place finish with an impressive leap of 6.93 meters (22 feet, 9 inches). The previous record was set by Tim Murphy in 1975 (6.86 m). 

Noah Brown is also bringing home a bronze medal for the Red Foxes. He pole vaulted 4.10 meters (13 feet, 5.25 inches) to capture third. 

Marist earned five more points in the javelin throw. Liam Haggerty used a personal record toss of 45.49 meters (149 feet, 3 inches) to finish fourth.

The Red Foxes also saw multiple student-athletes secure spots in tomorrow's finals. Chris Paxis finished third in the 1,500-meter run with a time of 3:57.76, while Raffi Buchakjian claimed tenth place with a personal record time of 4:01.68 in the same event. Amari Mathis secured eighth place in the 100-meter dash with a time of 10.86 seconds, and Christopher Lynch clinched eighth place in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 58.14 seconds.
