NORFOLK, Virginia – On its first day of the 2024 season, the Marist volleyball dropped a pair of matches to Old Dominion and Virginia, both by scores of 3-0 in the Quest for the Crown Tournament.
Old Dominion prevailed by set scores of 25-15, 25-12, and 25-17. Virginia won by scores of 25-9, 25-12, 25-13.
- Set One
- The Red Foxes jumped out to a 3-1 lead in set one thanks to consecutive kills by Sara Dasic, Nikki Patton, and Taylor Miller.
- Holding a 13-10 lead, Old Dominion scored seven straight points to pull away.
- Set Two
- The teams alternated the first seven points of the set. After a 4-0 ODU run, Marist countered with a 3-0 run.
- Leading 9-8, Old Dominion pulled away with a pair of 5-0 runs.
- Set Three
- A 4-0 Marist run, which included a block by Alyssa White, tied the score at nine apiece.
- With the score tied at 10, ODU took the lead for good with a 6-0 run.

- Marist took a 2-1 lead on a block by Alyssa White and Trinity Woods.
- Virginia countered with a 7-0 run, and led the rest of the set.

- Virginia scored the first four points, and led for the remainder of the set.
- Set Three
- Marist scored back-to-back points to cut its deficit to 4-3.
- Virginia immediately countered with a 4-0 run, and added another 4-0 run later in the set.

- Jamison White had team highs of seven assists and six digs to go along with three kills.
- Sara Dasic had a team-high four kills.
- Marist will play its final match in the Quest for the Crown Tournament on Saturday.
- The Red Foxes will face Texas-San Antonio at 10 a.m.
