LEWISBURG, Pennsylvania - The Marist football team dropped its non-league finale to Bucknell by a score of 34-18 on Saturday night at Christy Mathewson-Memorial Stadium.
- Bucknell opened the scoring with a 36-yard touchdown pass from Ralph Rucker IV to Eric Weatherly at the 12:16 mark of the first quarter.
- Marist answered on its ensuing drive on Enzo Arjona's 28-yard touchdown pass to Will Downes. The scored was tied 7-7 with 8:25 left in the first.
- Bucknell scored three touchdowns in a 3:24 span early in the second quarter to take a 27-7 lead. This remained the score at halftime.
- After a scoreless third quarter, Connor Mendini's 25-yard field goal cut Bucknell's lead to 27-10 with 13:23 to play.
- Rucker's touchdown pass to TJ Cadden gave Bucknell a 34-10 lead with 5:51 remaining.
- Sonny Mannino connected with Reed Dexter on a five-yard touchdown pass with 1:13 remaining. Mannino then completed a two-point conversion to Lincoln Cardillo.
- Diawara's 125 yards receiving were a career high.
- This was Diawara's second 100-yard receiving game as a Red Fox. Both have come against Bucknell.
- Dexter's touchdown reception was the first of his collegiate career.
- This was the third straight Patriot League opponent Marist faced. The three Patriot League teams Marist faced this season (Georgetown, Lafayette, Bucknell) are the most the Red Foxes faced since 2008.
- This is the 16th Marist-Bucknell meeting all-time.
- Marist is now 0-3 on the season
- Bucknell is now 2-2.
- Marist returns home to face Dayton on Saturday, Sept. 28.
- This will be the Red Foxes' Pioneer Football League opener, and it will take place on Family Weekend.
