VILLANOVA, Pennsylvania – The Marist volleyball team closed out its non-conference schedule with a 3-0 loss to Temple on Saturday evening inside the Jake Nevin Field House.

SET ONE (25-14 Temple)
Though both teams traded points early in the first frame, Temple showed themselves to have the slight edge, jumping ahead to an 8-6 lead. The Owls would go on to collect eight of the next 10 points to put the scoreline out of reach for the Red Foxes, who went on to lose the set 25-14.
SET TWO (25-20 Temple)
The early stages of the second frame saw each team trade leads several times, with no discernible advantage going to either team. After a four-point streak, it looked like the Owls were going to storm away with the set, but a well-timed Marist timeout stemmed the bleeding. Coming out of it with four of the next five points. Despite this the Red Foxes would go on to lose the set 25-20.
SET 3(25-18 Temple)
The Owls took a commanding lead early in the third frame, grabbing eight of the first 10 points. Though the Red Foxes would take points wherever they could, it was ultimately the Owls who sealed the match, closing out the set 25-18.
