POUGHKEEPSIE, New York. – Marist women's soccer relinquished two early first-half goals and could not recover, as the Red Foxes came up short at home against MAAC foe Manhattan, 4-0, Saturday evening inside Tenney Stadium.
With the loss, Marist fell to 2-6-1 on the campaign and 2-2-0 in the MAAC, while Manhattan improved to 5-3-1 on the season and 1-1-1 in conference play.

- Manhattan struck first in the ninth minute after Julia Nicholas sent a free kick towards the box. Talia Omer tracked it and headed the ball into the top left quadrant of the net to give the Jaspers a 1-0 lead.Â
- Manhattan added to its lead in the 11th minute after Sami Derrico sent in a pass directly to the box, met on the foot of Nicolette Caneda who put the ball into the back of the net to extend the Jaspers' lead to 2-0.
- Manhattan made it a 3-0 lead after Derrico sent in a corner to the box in the 33rd minute and was met with a header by Maddie Feller to the back of the net.
- Manhattan added a fourth goal in the 85th minute off a corner to add to its total.
- Maille McDermott led the Marist offense with two shots on goal
- Manhattan totaled seven shots on goal, compared to four for Marist
- The two sides generated four corner kicks apiece
- The Red Foxes will be back in action on Wednesday, Oct. 2, when Marist travels to Buffalo to play Canisius.
- The match is set to start at 4 p.m.
