BUFFALO, N.Y. – Marist women's volleyball came up short in its weekend finale, as the Red Foxes were downed in four sets inside Koessler Athletic Arena on Sunday afternoon.
Sara Dasic led Marist with 14 kills and 10 digs for a double-double, while Taylor Miller added 13 kills in the loss.
With the loss, Marist falls to 0-12 on the campaign and 0-2 in the MAAC, while Canisius improved to 6-7 on the season and 2-0 in conference play.

The two sides traded points to a 9-9 tie before Marist rattled off a 4-0 run behind two Canisius attack errors, forcing a Golden Griffins timeout with the Red Foxes leading 13-9. Out of the timeout, Marist was able to build its lead to 19-16 before the Golden Griffins stormed back to tie the match at 20-20, forcing a Marist timeout.
After Canisius took a 23-21 lead, Marist stormed back with a 5-1 run to take the opening set, 26-24.

The second set began similarly to the first set, a back-and-forth affair with neither team being able to separate on the scoreboard. The Red Foxes held a 15-13 lead going into the media timeout. The Red Foxes returned from the break hot, going on a three-point run to extend the lead to 18-13, forcing Niagara to call their first timeout of the set. The Purple Eagles were unable to slow down the Red Foxes' momentum, as Marist rolled to a 25-16 set victory.

Marist found itself down early in the set 8-3 before burning its first timeout. Out of the break Marist was able to cut the deficit to 16-14 before Canisius pushed the lead back to 18-14, forcing the Red Foxes to use its last timeout of the frame. The Red Foxes cut it to as close as 23-21 but ultimately fell in the set, 25-22.

Canisius jumped out to a 5-1 advantage, forcing Marist to call a timeout. The Red Foxes were unable to battle back in the set, falling 25-13 in the frame and 3-1 in the match.
