EAST LANSING, Michigan - The Marist volleyball team was defeated 3-0 by Western Kentucky and Loyola Chicago on Friday, Sept. 6. The Red Foxes fall to to a 0-5 record on the season.

- Set One
- Despite both teams trading points early in the first, with Marist leading 5-4 at one point, Western Kentucky would go on a nine point rally before surrendering another point.
- The Hilltoppers would go on to collect several more multi-point rallies to eventually win-out the first set 25-8
- Set Two
- The second set saw a very similar pattern to the first with both teams trading early, with hilltoppers eventually jumping out to a 6-2 lead.
- The Red Foxes pushed hard in the later half of the second set with contributions from Taylor Miller, Jamison White and Eden Bristow.
- Despite their efforts the Hilltoppers took the second set 25-16.
- Set Three
- Western Kentucky took a commanding 5-0 lead early in the third set only to be broken up by the Red Foxes with three consecutive points.
- WKU would go on to control the rest of the set, closing things out 25-12

- The Red Foxes began well against Loyola, taking a 5-2 lead.
- The Ramblers would then go on a four point rally to take a 6-5 lead.
- Loyola would go on to take the first set 25-15.
- Set 2
- Marist would have the advantage early in the second set, taking the first three points thanks to Taylor Miller, Jamison White and Sara Dasic.
- Loyola controlled the rest of the set, going on to take it 25-17.
- Set 3
- The Red Foxes battled early with the Ramblers with WKU with a 12-10 halfway through the set.
- Loyola would go on to take the set 25-18.
The Red Foxes will take on Michigan State on Saturday, Sept. 7 at 3 p.m. to close out the Kathy DeBoer Tournament.
