JERSEY CITY, New Jersey – The Marist men's basketball team earned a 56-51 comeback victory at Saint Peter's in a Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference game on Thursday night at Run Baby Run Arena.
The victory was the Red Foxes' ninth straight, and it moved Marist to 6-0 in MAAC play for the first time in the program's 28 years in the conference.
- Marist took its first lead on Josh Pascraelli's elbow jumper, which put the Red Foxes up 6-4 with 15:54 left.
- Marcus Randolph's four-point play staked Saint Peter's to a 10-6 lead, which was the largest lead either team had in the first nine minutes.
- Travis Roberts' three-pointer capped a 7-0 Marist run, and it gave the Red Foxes a 16-11 lead at the 10:24 mark.
- Saint Peter's countered with a 10-0 run, as the Red Foxes went scoreless for 7:27.
- Saint Peter's took a 26-20 lead to the locker room.
- Back-to-back three-pointers from Jackson Price staked Marist to its first lead of the second half, 36-34 at the 11:11 mark. This was the first of three lead changes in a span of 1:12.
- Pascarelli's three-pointer at the 6:26 mark gave Marist a 45-37 lead, the Red Foxes' largest to that point.
- Pascarelli's jumper with four minutes left staked Marist to its first double-digit advantage, at 52-42.
- Saint Peter's cut its deficit to four in the final minute, but came no closer.
- Price led all scorers with 16 points. He shot 6-for-9 from the field and 4-for-5 from three-point range.
- Price was joined in double figured by Pascarelli and Elijah Lewis, who had 10 apiece.
- Jadin Collins-Roberts had a team-high six rebounds, and he added eight points.
- Jaden Daughtry had a team-high four assists, and he also contributed three points, five rebounds, and two steals.
- Marist shot .487 (19-for-39) from the field and .444 (8-for-18) from three-point range. The Red Foxes held Saint Peter's to .340 (17-for-50) shooting from the field.
- Armoni Zeigler led Saint Peter's with 14 points and nine rebounds.
- The nine-game winning streak is tied for the second longest in the program's Division I history.
- This is the fifth straight game Marist has held the opposition under 40 percent from the field.
- Marist is now 8-1 when tied or trailing at halftime.
- The 51 points allowed by Marist is tied for the second-lowest point total the Red Foxes have allowed this season.
- Price's point total was his second highest this season. He scored a career-high 20 in Marist's win at Richmond on Nov. 9.
- Prior to tonight, Marist had lost 12 of its last 13 games in Jersey City.
- Neither team has scored 70 points in the last 10 Marist-Saint Peter's games.
- Marist is 13-2 overall and 6-0 in the MAAC.
- Saint Peter's is 6-8 this season and 1-5 in conference play.
- Marist returns home to face Rider on Saturday night.
