FAIRFIELD, Connecticut - The Marist women's volleyball team came out strong by taking the opening set, but couldn't sustain the momentum, falling 3–1 (25–22, 22–25, 23–25, 22–25) to Sacred Heart on Saturday night at the William H. Pitt Center.
Junior Sara Dasic led the Red Foxes with a team-high 19 kills while hitting an impressive .472, and also added 16 digs and two blocks. Mallory Reck followed with 16 kills and three blocks, while setter Caelyn Dumas orchestrated the offense with 48 assists and chipped in 13 digs for a double-double.
Defensively, Cecilia Potter-Pessoa paced the back row with 20 digs, and Marist tallied 10 total team blocks, highlighted by strong play at the net from Reck, Dasic, and Savannah Smith.
