LOUDONVILLE, New York – The Marist women's volleyball team dropped a four-set Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference contest to Siena on Tuesday night at the UHY Center, 22-25, 25-17, 25-17, 34-32.
Marist (7-17, 5-7 MAAC) came out strong by taking the opening set 25-22, but Siena (11-15 overall, 6-6 MAAC) responded with steady play over the next three frames to secure the home victory.
Sara Dasic led the Red Foxes with a team-high 16 kills and added solid play at the net. Mallory Reck contributed eleven kills and two blocks, while Eleana Koute tallied eleven kills. Claire Lewis paced the offense with 23 assists and chipped in 9 digs. Defensively, Cecilia Potter-Pessoa anchored the back row with 17 digs, while Caelyn Dumas added 19 assists.
Marist's best set came in the fourth, when the Red Foxes battled through multiple tie scores and match points before Siena closed it out 34-32 in an extended frame.
The Red Foxes return to McCann Arena on Friday, Oct. 31, for a non-conference matchup against Sacred Heart. First serve is scheduled for 7 p.m.
