POUGHKEEPSIE, New York - Marist Women's Volleyball closed out the month of October with a 3–1 win over Sacred Heart on Friday evening at McCann Arena. The Red Foxes won by set scores of 25–22, 17–25, 25–20, and 25–17 to improve to 8–17 overall and 6–7 in MAAC play.
Marist's offense was balanced throughout the night, led by Sara Dasic, who posted 17 kills and hit .316, while Sarah Bumstead had 11 kills on a .421 hitting percentage. Mallory Reck added 13 kills and 15 digs, and Eleana Koute contributed nine kills and solid play at the net.
Setter Caelyn Dumas directed the offense with 25 assists and added 3 digs, while libero Cecilia Potter-Pessoa anchored the defense with a team-high 21 digs. At the net, Marist recorded 11.5 team blocks, with Bumstead and Mikayla Keefer each contributing on multiple block assists.
After dropping the second set, the Red Foxes responded with a dominant .371 hitting percentage in the third and closed the match on a strong .250 clip in the fourth to secure the win.
Marist returns to action tomorrow at 4 p.m. against Fairfield at McCann Arena, as the Red Foxes will celebrate Senior Day.
