Volleyball Falls to Fairfield in Four Sets

POUGHKEEPSIE, New York – The Marist volleyball team dropped a hard-fought match to MAAC-leading Fairfield on Friday night at the James J. McCann Arena, falling in four sets (18–25, 25–22, 21–25, 15–25). The Red Foxes now stand at 8–18 overall and 6–8 in conference play.

After dropping the opening set, Marist responded with a strong second frame, fueled by a balanced offensive attack and timely defensive stops. The Red Foxes hit .333 in the second set, led by Mallory Reck and Mikayla Keefer, who combined for eight kills in the frame. Sara Dasic added a clutch service ace to seal the 25–22 win and even the match at one set apiece.

Fairfield, however, regained momentum in the third and fourth sets to pull away with the victory. The Stags hit an .357 in the third and .393 in the fourth, led by Mamie Krubally (11 kills, .346 hitting) and Katelyn Cook (11 kills, .308 hitting).
Despite the loss, Marist saw standout performances from several players: The Red Foxes showed resilience throughout the match, battling through 20 tie scores and 13 lead changes. They will look to bounce back in their next outing as they continue their push toward postseason play.

Marist hits the road for its final four matches of the season, starting on Friday, November 7th against Iona.
