POUGHKEEPSIE, New York — The Marist women's volleyball team extended its winning streak to four straight MAAC matches with a commanding 3–0 sweep of Iona (25–23, 26–24, 26–24) on Saturday evening at McCann Arena.
Senior Mallory Reck powered the Red Foxes' offense with 18 kills on a .333 hitting percentage, while Sara Dasic added 12 kills and a pair of blocks. Caelyn Dumas turned in an all-around performance with 21 assists, 13 digs, and two service aces, and Cecilia Potter-Pessoa anchored the back row with 14 digs.
Marist (5-11 overall, 4–1 MAAC) jumped ahead early, using a balanced attack to take the opening set 25–23. The Red Foxes showed poise in the second, rallying from a late deficit behind key points from Taylor Miller and Mikayla Keefer before Dumas closed the set with an ace.
The third frame mirrored the intensity of the first two, as Marist held off a late push from the Gaels (6–13, 1–4 MAAC). Reck and Dasic delivered timely kills down the stretch, capped by Dasic's clincher at 26–24 to seal the sweep.
The Red Foxes finished with 42 kills, a .279 team hitting percentage, and 68 digs in one of their most efficient outings of the season.
Marist will look to continue its momentum in its final non-conference match of the season on Tuesday, October 7th when it hosts Holy Cross at 7 p.m. in McCann Arena.
