POUGHKEEPSIE, New York –
Nate Furrow and
Jeremy DeCaro of the Marist University football team both earned Honorable Mention for Stats Perform FCS Player of the Week. Furrow earned the distinction for Defensive Player of the Week, while DeCaro was recognized for Freshman of the Week.
Both Furrow (Defensive Player of the Week) and DeCaro (Special Teams Player of the Week) earned honors from the Pioneer Football League on Sunday following the Red Foxes' 19-14 victory over San Diego on Saturday.
Furrow totaled eight total tackles (six solo), five tackles for loss, and three sacks on Saturday. Two of his sacks occurred on San Diego's final two offensive plays. His five tackles for loss were the most by a Red Fox since 2013 (Landon Moore), the first by a PFL player since 2023 (Finn Claypool, Drake). He became the second FCS player to record five tackles for loss this season, and he was the first to have all five tackles be unassisted. Furrow's three sacks were the most by a Red Fox in a game since 2015 (Alex Spiess).
DeCaro totaled a career-high 140 all-purpose yards against San Diego on Saturday. He set career highs for punt return yards (87), receiving yards (53), and punt returns (seven). DeCaro had four punt returns of at least 14 yards. His five receptions led the Red Foxes in the game, and that total tied a career high set the previous week.
