POUGHKEEPSIE, New York - In a tightly contested Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) matchup at Tenney Stadium, the Marist men's soccer team played Manhattan to a 1-1 draw on Saturday evening.
The Red Foxes (7-4-4, 3-4-2 MAAC) came out strong, dominating possession early and striking first in the 8th minute. Junior midfielder
Kyle Evans netted his sixth goal of the season, finishing a play assisted by
Arion Ulaj and
Jonathan Salguero. Marist controlled the tempo throughout the first half, outshooting the Jaspers 12-2 and earning five corner kicks to Manhattan's zero.

Jamie Lowell anchored the defense with two saves, while defenders
Ethan Ortiz and
Gijs Verheul helped keep the Jaspers at bay.
The second half saw a shift in momentum as Manhattan (4-7-4, 3-3-3 MAAC) increased its offensive pressure. The Jaspers tallied six shots in the final 45 minutes, culminating in a dramatic equalizer in the 90th minute. Henry Reinhart found the back of the net off a setup from Paul Abbatiello, leveling the score.
The Red Foxes ended the match with a 15-8 advantage in shots and a 52% edge in possession.
Marist closes out the season at Saint Peter's on Wednesday, November 5th, with a chance at earning a postseason berth with help from around the league.
