NEW ROCHELLE, New York - The Marist volleyball team earned a road sweep over Iona on Friday afternoon defeating the Gaels 25-23, 25-21, 25-19 at the Hynes Athletics Center.
Sara Dasic led the Red Foxes with 10 kills to go along with six digs.
Mallory Reck also secured 10 kills in the match to go along with 11 digs, while
Eleana Koute added eight kills on a strong .300 hitting percentage.
Setter
Claire Lewis ran the offense with 21 assists, contributing two digs. Cecilia Potter-Pessoa anchored the back row with 17 digs, and
Caelyn Dumas made a key impact serving up 12 assists and four digs.
As a team, Marist hit .286 for the match while limiting Iona to just .209. The Red Foxes also tallied 44 digs and six total blocks to complete the sweep.
With the win, Marist improves to 9–18 overall and 7–8 in MAAC play, while Iona drops to 9–20 and 4–11 in conference action.
The Red Foxes are back in action tomorrow, Saturday, Nov. 8, when they travel to Manhattan University for their final road match of the regular season. First serve is set for 4 p.m.
