JERSEY CITY, New Jersey - Marist Volleyball put together one of its most efficient offensive performances of the season, sweeping Saint Peter's 3–0 (25–17, 28–26, 25–18) Friday evening at the Yanitelli Center. The Red Foxes hit .352 as a team and never trailed in sets one and three, improving to 10–19 overall and 8–9 in MAAC play.
Marist controlled the opening frame behind a blistering .433 hitting percentage, committing just one attack error while collecting 14 kills. The Red Foxes continued to apply pressure with a tight win in set two, edging out the Peacocks 28–26 in a set that featured 10 ties.
The offense stayed hot in the third, hitting .439 and closing out the sweep convincingly.
Mallory Reck led the way with 16 kills, hitting .341 while adding eight digs and two aces.
Sara Dasic followed with a standout all-around performance, registering 14 kills, 12 digs, two aces, and two blocks.
Sarah Bumstead added seven kills on a .538 clip, and
Eleana Koute and
Ava Lanzetta chipped in six kills each.
In the back row, Cecilia Potter-Pessoa anchored the defense with a team-high 18 digs, while setters
Claire Lewis and
Caelyn Dumas combined for 43 assists to guide the Marist attack.
As a team, Marist posted 52 kills to Saint Peter's 35, out-dug the Peacocks 57–49, and tallied seven aces on the night.
The Red Foxes now turn their attention to the regular season finale, traveling to Rider on Saturday at 2 p.m. with MAAC Championship positioning on the line.
