Marist Shines in Graduation Success Rate Report

14 Programs Achieve Perfect 100 Score, Red Foxes Tied Atop MAAC Lead in Overall Score

POUGHKEEPSIE, New York – The Marist University Athletics Department posted an overall Graduation Success Rate (GSR) score of 97 and 14 program earned a perfect score of 100, according to data released by the NCAA on Wednesday.

The number of programs scoring 100 is the highest of any school in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference, and it is tied for second in program history just one off the school record of 15. The GSR score is tied with Canisius for best in the conference.

The programs earning 100 are: women's basketball, women's cross country/track & field (counted as one program), women's rowing, women's lacrosse, women's soccer, softball, women's swimming & diving, women's tennis, volleyball, men's basketball, men's lacrosse, men's soccer, men's swimming & diving, and men's tennis.

As a conference, the MAAC's GSR score of 94 is tied for third among the 32 Division I conferences. The MAAC trailed only the Ivy League and Atlantic 10, and is tied with the ACC and Patriot League.

The NCAA GSR report gives graduation information for students and student-athletes who entered college in 2018, the most recent class for which the required six years of information is available. It also breaks down the GSR by sport, using a four-year class average (2015-2018) called a cohort rate to provide a big enough sample. The GSR formula removes from the rate student-athletes who leave school while academically eligible and includes student-athletes who transfer to a school after initially enrolling elsewhere.
