Marist Announces Hall of Fame Selection Committee

Prominent Alumni in Sports Industries Comprise Prestigious Group

POUGHKEEPSIE, New York – The Marist University Athletics Department has proudly announced its Hall of Fame selection committee. This committee is comprised of loyal, prominent alumni in sports industries.
 
The selection committee consists of:

"We are proud of our tradition of excellence in athletics," Murray said. "I am inspired by our alumni who have succeeded in a variety of sports industries. I'm proud to see them supporting Marist Athletics and our Hall of Fame with their time and energy. I'm looking forward to working with each of them in the coming years to select our Hall of Fame classes."
 
The role of the selection committee is to make the final decisions on inductions into Marist's newly formed Athletics Hall of Fame. The group will meet for the first time in December, and select the inaugural class to be inducted in the Fall of 2026 in conjunction with Homecoming & Reunion Weekend at Marist.
 
Here is a closer look at the alumni representatives on the selection committee:
 
Eileen Altobelli '82
Eileen Altobelli is a seasoned financial services professional with more than three decades of industry experience. She served as the Head of Client Services for the mutual-fund record-keeping division at BNY Melton, where she led a team of client relationship managers and oversaw key aspects of client engagement and operational excellence. 

A 1982 graduate of Marist, she earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Science and was a member of the women's rowing team. Deeply committed to her alma mater, she remains an active leader in the Marist community, serving as President of the Alumni Executive Board and a member of the Board of Trustees. 

Altobelli and her husband, Dave, have made their home in Franklin, Massachusetts, for more than two decades, where they have raised their daughter, Lauren. Her professional accomplishments and ongoing dedication to Marist reflect a lifelong commitment to leadership, service, and community. 
 
Greg Bibb '96
Greg Bibb is a seasoned sports executive with more than 28 years of experience in the industry. He currently serves as the Chief Executive Officer and Managing Partner of the WNBA's Dallas Wings. Bibb joined the franchise in November 2015 and has served as CEO since 2017. 

Under Bibb's guidance, the Wings have experienced significant growth both on and off the court. He has overseen major improvements in ticket sales, attendance, media visibility, corporate partnerships, and overall brand presence. His leadership has helped position the Wings as one of the WNBA's emerging franchises.  

Before his time with the Wings, Bibb held senior executive roles with both the Washington Mystics and the Washington Wizards, where he served as Chief Operating Officer and Executive Vice President of Business Operations, respectively. He also founded and led Capital Sports Ventures, a sports investment and events company, further showcasing his entrepreneurial and strategic leadership skills.  

A native of Pennsylvania, Bibb graduated from Marist in 1996 with a degree in Communication, concentrating in Radio, Television, and Film. His career reflects a deep passion for sports and a proven ability to drive business success in the professional sports world. 
 
Terrence Fede '14
In 2014, Terrence Fede became the first Marist football player to be selected in the NFL Draft when he was selected in the seventh round (234th overall) by the Miami Dolphins. Fede played four seasons with the Dolphins (2014-17), appearing in 51 games and totaling 55 tackles.  He later signed contracts with the Buffalo Bills and New York Giants. 

During his playing career at Marist, Fede was named Pioneer Football League Defensive Player of the Year in 2013 and earned three All Pioneer Football League selections. He established the Marist record for single-season and career records for sacks.  He was named a First Team All-American and the led the Football Championship Subdivision in sacks per game in 2013. 

After his playing days, Fede served as assistant defensive line coach at Lehigh and later earned his master's degree in Sports Administration from Arkansas State. He currently is a Certified NFL Agent working with Aura Sports, and he works in Enterprise Partnership Development for DoorDash.  
 
Sean Kennedy '02
Sean Kennedy is a Senior Agent at Excel Sports Management, based in New York.  

Since joining Excel Sports Management around 2009 as one of its first employees, Kennedy has been dedicated to representing professional basketball players, managing their careers, and negotiating contracts on their behalf.  Excel Sports is now one of the foremost sports agencies in the world. Kennedy is a certified agent with the National Basketball Players Association (NBPA), a credential he has held since 2011. He utilizes his background in big law paired with his unique understanding and perspective of the basketball industry to effectively guide athletes through the complexities of their professional journeys. He has negotiated over $850 million in player contracts and currently represents some of the best players in the NBA.

Kennedy holds a Juris Doctor degree from Northwestern University's Pritzker School of Law and earned his bachelor's degree from Marist, where he was a point guard on the men's basketball team from 1998-2002 and still holds the program's single-game record for assists. 
 
John Lasker '97
John Lasker is Senior Vice President of ESPN's Direct-To-Consumer. He is responsible for the growth strategy and overall management of ESPN's direct-to-streaming service. He works closely with groups across ESPN, Disney+ and Hulu, overseeing areas like programming, content acquisition, marketing, ad sales, product, technology, analytics, and finance.    

Lasker joined ESPN in 1999, initially as a supervisor of sales planning. Over the years, he has held roles including account sales executive, manager of program planning, and head of programming and acquisitions for ESPN's digital media. He has been a key leader behind ESPN's streaming evolution: launching services like ESPN MobileTV, ESPN3, WatchESPN, ESPN+, and most recently, ESPN Direct to Consumer in August 2025.    

He is a native of Brooklyn, New York, and earned a bachelor's degree in psychology from Marist in 1997. John competed for four years as a member of the Cross Country, Indoor and Outdoor Track & Field teams where he served as captain of the 1996-97 team.  
 
Maureen Magarity, '03, '05M
Currently the Director of Major Gifts for Athletics at the University of Vermont, Maureen Magarity enjoyed a successful 14-year run as a Division I head women's basketball coach. 

Magarity led Holy Cross to back-to-back NCAA Tournament appearances in 2023 and 2024. In 2022, she was honored as Patriot League Coach of the Year after leading the Crusaders to the Patriot League regular-season championship and a WNIT appearance. 

Prior to her time at Holy Cross, Magarity served as the head coach at the University of New Hampshire from 2010 to 2020. In 2017, she led the team to an America East regular-season title while being named Kay Yow Coach of the Year and America East Coach of the Year. She also was a finalist for WBCA National Coach of the Year.   

Magarity began her coaching career as an assistant at Marist before moving on to Fairfield and then Army, where she worked alongside her father, Dave Magarity, who was the head coach at Army and previously at Marist.   

A native of Wappingers Falls, New York, Magarity was a standout player at Marist, leading the Red Foxes to their first NCAA Tournament appearance in 2004. She was a two-time captain and earned Second Team All-Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference honors.   
 
Bobby Marks '95
Bobby Marks is ESPN's NBA Front Office Insider, providing expert analysis on the business and operations of the NBA.  

He joined ESPN in 2017 after a 20-year tenure with the Brooklyn Nets, where he advanced from an intern in 1995 to Assistant General Manager by 2010. During his time with the Nets, the team made two Eastern Conference Finals appearances.   

At ESPN, Marks contributes to various platforms, including NBA Today, SportsCenter, and digital media, offering insights into the NBA's salary cap, player contracts, trades, and free agency. His role expanded following the departure of Adrian Wojnarowski in 2023, and in January 2025, he signed a multiyear contract extension with the network.   

Marks is also involved in basketball education as a lead instructor for the Sports Business Classroom, mentoring the next generation of NBA front office professionals. 

Marks is a 1995 Marist graduate who played football for the Red Foxes. 
 
Ian O'Connor '86
Ian O'Connor is a sports journalist and biographer.  He has written six straight New York Times bestsellers, including Coach K: The Rise and Reign of Mike Krzyzewski;  Belichick: The Making of the Greatest Football Coach of All Time;  Arnie & Jack: Palmer, Nicklaus, and Golf's Greatest Rivalry; The Captain: The Journey of Derek Jeter; Out of the Darkness: The Mystery of Aaron Rodgers; and most recently, Never Stop: Life, Leadership, and What It Takes to Be Great with Dan Hurley. 

O'Connor has won many national writing awards - 20 first-place finishes in contests by groups such as the Golf Writers Association of America, the Pro Football Writers of America, the Associated Press Sports Editors, the Society of Professional Journalists, among others. 

Raised in Englewood, New Jersey, O'Connor graduated from St. Cecilia High School in 1982. He earned his bachelor's degree from Marist in 1986.   
 
Travis Tellitocci '04, '14M
Travis Tellitocci became the fourth Commissioner of the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference in February 2023, officially taking over the role on May 15, 2023.   

Tellitocci has a diverse background in college athletics and professional sports. Before joining the MAAC, he served for over six years as the Assistant Commissioner for Football, Basketball, and Officiating at the Ohio Valley Conference, where he also managed multiple conference tournaments.   

His earlier career includes a decade at Marist, where he rose through several leadership positions - including Deputy Athletics Director – overseeing marketing, media relations, ticketing, business operations, and digital & broadcast initiatives.  Before that, he worked in professional sports as part of the New York Mets, where he was Associate Producer for scoreboard & entertainment.   

Travis is a native of Benwood, West Virginia. He graduated from Marist in 2004 with a bachelor's degree in Communication (minor in Writing) and later earned his master's degree in Integrated Marketing & Communication from Marist in 2014. 
 
Brandon Tierney '96
Brandon Tierney is a sports talk radio host and broadcaster from Brooklyn, New York. He currently hosts a show with Sal Licata on WFAN from 10 a.m.-2 p.m.

Over the course of his career, he has worked in multiple major sports markets. His early stops include broadcast roles in Allentown, Pennsylvania, and Detroit hosting midday shows. He spent nearly nine years at 1050 ESPN Radio in New York City, anchoring Knicks pre and postgame coverage, filling in on play-by-play, and doing other local sports radio work.  

Tierney later hosted shows in San Francisco on 95.7 "The Game," and moved into nationally-syndicated radio with CBS Sports Radio. He is a radio analyst for St. John's basketball, has done TV appearances including on SportsNet New York's The WheelHouse and MSG Network's Red Storm Report, and has contributed to ESPN's Outside the Lines. He also won a New York Emmy for his role in SNY's Free Agent Frenzy. 

He holds a degree in Journalism from Marist, where he was a four-year member of the baseball team.  
 
Julianne Viani '08, '09M
Julianne Viani starred for the Marist women's basketball team before becoming a successful broadcaster. A guard for the Red Foxes from 2004-09, she amassed 1,447 career points, becoming one of the top scorers in the school's history.  During her time at Marist, she was part of four NCAA Tournament teams and helped lead Marist to its first-ever Sweet Sixteen appearance in 2007.   

After graduating, Viani played professionally in Armenia with Hatis Yerevan in EuroCup competition.   

Following her playing career, she moved into sports broadcasting. She currently covers a wide range of college basketball and the WNBA for CBS and NBC.  She is also involved in her faith, serving with the Fellowship of Christian Athletes in New York City, and speaks openly about how her Christian faith has shaped her life and work.
