Lexie Tarul led the way with nine points apiece, as Marist women's basketball closed the Paradise Jam with a 63-37 loss against Miami (OH) in the third-place game of the Reef Division.
With the loss, the Red Foxes move to 2-6 on the campaign, while Miami improved to 5-3.

Miami used the opening 3:30 of the contest to jump out to an 8-2 lead before
Jackie Piddock nailed a three-pointer to trim the deficit to 8-5. However, the Red Foxes closed the frame with a 9-2 run to carry a 14-10 lead into the second quarter.

After Miami cut the Marist lead to 14-13, the Red Foxes responded with a swift 5-0 run to force a Miami timeout.
However, the RedHawks responded with a 14-0 run to force a Marist timeout down 27-19. Miami extended its run to 19-2 as the RedHawks carried a 32-21 advantage into the break.

The two sides were nearly even early in the frame before Miami used a 15-2 run over the final 7:24 of the frame to carry a 49-29 advantage into the fourth quarter.

Cold-shooting doomed the Red Foxes, as Miami's lead ballooned to as much as 30 points before Marist eventually fell, 63-37.
