ALBANY, N.Y. – The Marist University women's basketball team fell 74-46 to UAlbany of the America East Conference on Tuesday night at the Broadview Center in the season opener for both teams.
- UAlbany opened the game with a 7-0 run before sophomore guard Danielle Williamsen knocked down a 3-pointer for Marist's first basket of the season.
- The Great Danes led 9-5 at the media timeout with 4:51 remaining in the quarter.
- UAlbany held a 17-9 advantage after one. Williamsen scored five early points, while senior guard Lexie Tarul and junior guard Julia Corsentino added the other baskets for the Red Foxes.
- UAlbany extended its lead to 24-13 before Tarul hit back-to-back 3-pointers, cutting the deficit to 24-19 with 5:56 left in the half.
- The Great Danes responded with an 11-0 run to push their lead to 35-19 at the 3:33 mark.
- Junior guard Malea Egan connected on a 3-pointer from the corner to end the run.
- Marist trailed 39-22 at halftime.
- UAlbany used an 8-0 run to stretch its lead to 54-27, forcing a Marist timeout with 2:14 to go in the quarter.
- The Great Danes led 59-32 heading into the fourth.
- A layup at the 5:58 mark gave UAlbany its largest lead of the game at 68-32.
- The Great Danes held on to win it 74-46.
- Sophomore guard Chloe Escanillas led the Red Foxes with a team-high 14 points in 10 minutes off the bench.
- Tarul added 10 points on 4-for-8 shooting and grabbed four rebounds.
- Williamsen chipped in eight points and a team-high three assists.
- Marist returns to action on Friday, Nov. 7, hosting Drexel in the 2025-26 home opener.
