RIVERDALE, New York - The Marist volleyball team dropped a 3-0 decision to Manhattan on Saturday afternoon at Draddy Gymnasium. The Red Foxes fell by scores of 25–21, 25–16, and 25–17.
Senior
Sara Dasic led the Red Foxes offensively with nine kills, while
Sarah Bumstead added five kills and a .300 hitting percentage.
Mallory Reck contributedeight kills and three digs, and
Caelyn Dumas posted 14 assists to go along with two digs.
Defensively, libero Cecilia Potter-Pessoa paced the back row with 11 digs and a .870 reception percentage. As a team, Marist hit .114 on the afternoon and recorded three total team blocks, while Manhattan countered with a .461 hitting percentage and 15 team blocks.
With the result, Marist moves to 9–19 overall and 7–9 in MAAC play, while Manhattan improves to 4–22 overall and 2–14 in the conference.
The Red Foxes will return to action next Friday, November 14, when they travel to Jersey City to face Saint Peter's University in their next MAAC matchup.
