POUGHKEEPSIE, NY. – Danielle Williamsen and
Malea Egan scored nine points apiece, as Marist women's basketball was downed by MAAC foe Fairfield at home, 80-49, Thursday evening inside McCann Arena.
Morgan Lee added six points, five rebounds, and five blocks in the loss.
With the loss, Marist fell to 11-10 on the season and 6-5 in the MAAC, while Fairfield improved to 18-3 on the campaign and 12-0 in conference play.

The Stags opened the contest with a 13-2 run, forcing a Marist timeout with 4:11 left in the first quarter. Fairfield forced the Red Foxes to shoot 18.2% from the floor, as the Stags carried a 16-5 lead into the second quarter.

Fairfield opened the period with a 10-3 run to extend its lead to 26-8 before the Red Foxes responded with a swift 5-0 run to trim the deficit back to 16. The Stags built their lead to as much as 20 points, before taking a 41-23 lead into the half.

The Stags used the first four minutes of the half to go on a 10-2 run, forcing a Marist timeout trailing 51-25. Fairfield outscored the Red Foxes 27-10 in the frame, taking a 68-33 advantage into the fourth.

The Red Foxes were unable to overcome the large deficit, eventually falling, 80-49.
