NEWARK, DE. – Collin Patrick and
Drew Anderson tallied two goals apiece to lead Marist men's lacrosse, but it wasn't enough, as the Red Foxes came up short on the road against Delaware in the non-conference finale, 12- 10, inside Delaware Stadium on Wednesday evening.
Patrick led the offense with two goals and three assists for five points, while Anderson contributed two goals in the loss.
With the loss, Marist fell to 3-5, while Delaware improved to 4-3 with the win.

- With Marist trailing 1-0, Collin Patrick put Marist on the board with a diving goal in front of the net to tie the contest at 1-1 with 7:40 left in the frame
- The Blue Hens were able to put one more in the back of the net to carry a 2-1 lead into the second.

- Delaware opened the frame with a goal to extend its lead to 3-1 with 13:39 left in the half
- Sean Mullan recorded his first tally of the contest with a goal just ahead of the 10-minute mark to cut the deficit to one.
- However, Delaware struck two more times in the half to push its lead to 5-2 at halftime
- After falling behind 6-2, the Red Foxes rattled off three straight goals behind a goal apiece from Steven Cain, Sam Ferrel, and Drew Anderson to cut the deficit to 6-5
- However, Delaware put one home before the end of the frame to carry a two-goal lead into the fourth quarter
- The Red Foxes struck first in the fourth behind an unassisted goal from Patrick to trim the deficit to one with 13:41 left in the frame
- After the Blue Hens pushed their lead to two, Anderson scored his second of the game off a feed from Patrick to bring the deficit back to one for the Red Foxes
- However, Delaware quickly responded with three straight goals to push ahead 11-7
- The deficit was too much for the Red Foxes, as they eventually fell 12-10.
- Marist will be back in action on Saturday, March 22, when the Red Foxes travel to take on MAAC foe Mount St. Mary's
- The game is scheduled to air at 12 p.m. on ESPN+
