Red Foxes Set for MAAC Championships

LAWRENCE TOWNSHIP, NJ – The Marist men's and women's track & field teams travel to Lawrence Township, New Jersey for the MAAC Outdoor Championships at the Michael P. Brady Track Complex for their eighth meet of the season. 
 

LAST TIME OUT
  • The Marist track and field teams competed at the Vassar Springtime Invitational on Apr. 26th

  • Ramsey Heredia placed first in the long jump with a distance of 6.58 meters. 

  • Marist 'A' and 'B' 4x400 -meter relay teams took first and second place with times of 3:36.74 and 3:39.47. 

  • Amari Mathis finished in 22.43 for third place in the 200-meter dash. 

  • Simon Advento earned a PR of 58.31 in the 400-meter hurdles for second place. 

  • Miles Chamberlain placed second in the 800-meter run with a time of 1:55.84. Joaquin Bell-Andrade earned third with his time of 1:59.84. 

  • Easton Eberwein earned first with a time of 49.02 in the 400-meter dash. 

  • Steven Viera placed second in the 1500-meter run with a PR of 4:04.63.

  • Christopher Lynch placed third in the 110-meter hurdles with a time of 16.13. 

  • Kiana Pathriana placed first in the triple jump with a distance of 10.64 meters. 

  • The Marist women's 4x400-meter relay finished first with a time of 4:16.57. 

  • Julia Radjenovic brought home the women's third first place finish with a time of 18:11.78 in the 5000-meter run.

  • Alexandra Samperi's new school record of 5.66 meters took first in the women's long jump. 

  • Grace Murphy earned second in the javelin throw with a distance of 28.12 meters. 

  • Kayla Hawkins placed first in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:18.48. Julia Zydanowicz followed close behind earning her third with a time of 2:20.17. 

  • Stephania Granados earned first with her PR of 59.46 in the 400-meter dash. 

  • Talia Augusto placed third in the 100-meter hurdles with a PR of 16.92. 

WOMEN'S HISTORY AT MAAC CHAMPIONSHIP
  • This Marist women's track and field team competed at the MAAC Outdoor Championships last from May 4th through May 5th, 2024. 

  • Adele Alexander (4:43.11) earned a point for the Red Foxes with an eighth-place finish in the 1,500-meter run finals. 

  • The 4x400 relay team secured fifth place as well. Stephania Granados, Breelyn McNamara, Cailin Horton, and Julia Kropo finished the race in 4:06.20. 

  • Samantha Kehler scored four points for Marist, finishing fifth in the 5k in a personal record time of 17:53.92. 

  • The 4x800-meter relay team consisting of Kayla Hawkins, Grace Fletcher, Raven Stanet, and Parker O'Brien also captured third place, crossing the finish line in 9:21.12.  

  • On day two, Grace O'Neill secured third place in the high jump with a leap of 1.52 meters (4 feet, 11.75 inches). 

  • Marist also had two student-athletes qualify for finals in the 1,500-meter run on day one: Adele Alexander (4:45.35, 5th) and Sierra Fisher (4:45.64, 10th). 

  • Julia Kropo gave the Red Foxes another scorer, placing eighth in the javelin throw with a toss of 34.97 meters (114 feet, 8 inches). 

  • Emily Litke earned three points for the Red Foxes, securing sixth in the 3,000-meter steeple with a new personal record time of 11:35.51.  

MEN'S HISTORY AT MAAC CHAMPIONSHIP
  • The Marist men's track and field team competed at the MAAC Outdoor Championships last from May 4th through May 5th, 2024. 

  • Amari Mathis secured sixth in the 100-meter dash with a time of 10.84 seconds.
  • Christopher Lynch placed eighth in the 400-meter hurdles, crossing the finish line in 1:00.19. 
  • The Marist 4x100 relay consisting of Mathis, LaBrecque, Christopher Lynch, and Lee captured fifth with a time of 44.37.  
  • The Red Foxes also earned fourth place in the 4x400 relay. Amari Mathis, Easton Eberwein, Weston LaBrecque, and Kevin Lee finished in 3:26.18. 
  • Chris Paxis led the way on day two, capturing fourth place in the 1,500-meter run with a season-best time of 3:54.27.
  • Paxis was also a part of the fourth-place 4x800-meter relay team along with Jacob Anderson, Tyler Perry, and Matthew Ferreri
  • The Red Foxes also saw multiple student-athletes secure spots in tomorrow's finals. Chris Paxis finished third in the 1,500-meter run with a time of 3:57.76, while Raffi Buchakjian claimed tenth place with a personal record time of 4:01.68 in the same event.
  • Amari Mathis secured eighth place in the 100-meter dash with a time of 10.86 seconds
  • Christopher Lynch clinched eighth place in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 58.14 seconds. 
  • Marist earned five more points in the javelin throw. Liam Haggerty used a personal record toss of 45.49 meters (149 feet, 3 inches) to finish fourth. 

  • Noah Brown brought home a bronze medal for the Red Foxes. He pole vaulted 4.10 meters (13 feet, 5.25 inches) to capture third.  

  • Kevin Lee broke a 49-year-old school record in the long jump, securing a third-place finish with an impressive leap of 6.93 meters (22 feet, 9 inches). The previous record was set by Tim Murphy in 1975 (6.86 m).
