POUGHKEEPSIE, New York – Chase Hatton of the Marist University football team has earned Honorable Mention for Stats Perform Football Championship Subdivision Freshman of the Week.
 
In his first collegiate game, Hatton finished with seven tackles (three solo), an interception, and a fumble recovery in Marist's 31-14 win over New Haven on Friday night at Tenney Stadium.
 
Hatton's fumble recovery came on kickoff coverage in the first quarter. On a New Haven drive late in the second quarter, Hatton recorded three tackles - including one for no gain - and finished the drive with an interception, which he returned 43 yards into New Haven territory.
 
Hatton is a native of West Chester, Pennsylvania who was a standout at West Chester Rustin High School.
 
Marist will return to action on Saturday, when the Red Foxes host Bucknell at Tenney Stadium. Kickoff is set for 1 p.m.
