QUEENS, N.Y. – The Marist volleyball team closed out play at the Carnesecca Classic on Saturday evening with a 3-0 loss to undefeated West Virginia (25-14, 25-16, 25-14).
The Mountaineers (8-0) showcased their efficiency at the net, hitting .426 as a team while limiting the Red Foxes (1-9) to a .083 hitting percentage.
Mallory Reck led the Marist attack with seven kills, while Sarah Bumsteam
added five on a .500 clip.
Eden Bristow chipped in four kills, and setter
Caelyn Dumas tallied 20 assists and four digs. Libero
Haylee Wenner and the Red Foxes' back row combined for 17 digs on the night.
Marist will return to action on Saturday, Sept. 20, against UConn on the road . First serve is set for 4 p.m.
