POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. – Senior captain guard Lexie Tarul recorded a 17-point, 12-rebound double-double to lead the Marist University women's basketball team to a 75-72 victory over Siena on Thursday evening at McCann Arena.

Four Red Foxes scored in double figures as Marist set a season high with 19 assists. Freshman forward Justine Henry added 15 points, sophomore guard Danielle Williamsen contributed 12, and senior captain guard Jackie Piddock chipped in 10 points and a game-high eight assists to help the Red Foxes snap a three-game losing skid.

Marist improves to 7-13 on the season and 4-6 in MAAC play, while Siena drops to 7-12 overall and 5-5 in conference action.
 

FIRST QUARTER

• The Red Foxes scored the first five points of the game and took a 10-4 lead on a 3-pointer from Tarul at the 7:08 mark.
• Marist led 12-8 at the media timeout with 4:36 remaining in the opening frame.
• The Saints closed the quarter on a 10-3 run to take a 20-19 advantage after one.

SECOND QUARTER

• The Red Foxes regained the lead at 32-28 with 4:19 remaining in the first half.
• Siena responded with a 7-0 run to take a 35-32 lead at the 2:59 mark.
• The game was all tied at 37-37 at halftime.

THIRD QUARTER

• Marist used an 11-0 run, including five points from Williamsen, to take a 51-43 lead at the 6:04 mark.
• The Red Foxes held a 59-51 advantage through three quarters.

FOURTH QUARTER

• Henry opened the final frame with a turnaround jumper followed by a 3-pointer to put Marist up 64-53 at the 9:10 mark.
• The Saints countered with a 14-0 run to take a 65-64 lead with 4:26 to play.
• Henry and Tarul responded with back-to-back buckets to regain the lead at 68-65 with 3:33 remaining.
• Piddock scored four consecutive points, and Tarul knocked down a 3-pointer with 13 seconds left to seal the 75-72 win.

STATS

• Tarul finished with 17 points on 7-for-14 shooting and 3-for-6 from three-point range, while pulling down a career-high 12 rebounds, dishing out a career-high-tying five assists, and swiping three steals.
• Henry tallied her sixth game with 15 or more points to go along with five rebounds, one block, and one steal.
• Williamsen added 12 points on 5-for-10 shooting, four rebounds, three assists, three steals, and one block.
• Piddock scored 10 points and tied her career high with eight assists.
• The Red Foxes' 19 assists marked their highest total since Nov. 13, 2024, against Lafayette.
