NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. - The Marist University women's basketball team fell 65-64 to Iona on Saturday afternoon at the Hynes Athletic Center.

Marist falls to 7-14 overall and 4-7 in MAAC play, while Iona improves to 13-8 on the season and 6-5 in conference action.

- The Gaels opned the game with a quick 6-0 spurt, capitalizing on two early Marist turnovers.
- The Red Foxes responded with a 7-0 run, including five points from Piddock, to take a 7-6 lead at the 6:51 mark.

- A 9-0 run, started and capped by a jumper from sophomore guard Danielle Williamsen, gave Marist a 31-23 lead with 4:18 remaining in the half.
- Iona answered with a 10-1 run to take a 33-32 lead with 1:14 left before halftime.

- The Gaels opened the second half with five quick points to take a 38-34 lead less than a minute into the quarter.
- Iona extended its run to take a 47-39 lead at the 5:56 mark and later built its largest lead of the game at 10, 52-42, with 4:30 remaining.
- Marist closed the quarter with a 9-2 run, converting six straight free throws to pull within three at 54-51.
- Iona opened the final frame with a 7-2 spurt to take a 61-53 lead with 6:28 to play.
- Marist answered with a 6-0 run to pull within two at 63-61 with 3:12 remaining.
- The Red Foxes pulled within one in the final minute and had possession on the final play, but were unable to convert as Iona secured the 65-64 win.
