POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. - The Marist University women's basketball team earned a 60-53 victory over Canisius on Thursday evening at McCann Arena.
Sophomore guard
Danielle Williamsen led the Red Foxes with 15 points, five assists, and four rebounds. Freshman forward
Justine Henry added 14 points, six rebounds, and two steals. Senior captain guard
Jackie Piddock dished out a game-high eight assists to go along with eight points, while senior captain forward
Ciara Croker recorded a team-high eight rebounds and added eight points.
Marist built a lead as large as 20 points before Canisius used a 19-2 run in the third quarter to cut the deficit to two, but the Red Foxes persevered down the stretch to secure the win.
Marist improves to 8-14 overall and 5-7 in the MAAC, while Canisius falls to 3-17 on the season and 1-10 in conference play.

- Marist took an 8-4 lead at the 6:26 mark as Williamsen scored four early points.
- A six-minute scoring drought allowed Canisius to take a 9-8 lead on a 3-pointer with just under one minute remaining.

- The Golden Griffins extended the run to 19-2 over an 8:16 span as Marist held a slim 39-37 lead after three.
- Marist responded to start the final frame with an 11-2 run to push the lead to 50-39 with 5:09 remaining.
- Canisius trimmed the deficit to six following a 7-2 run, making it 55-49 with 2:03 to play.
- The Red Foxes held on to secure the 60-53 victory.
