NEW YORK, N.Y. – The Marist men's track & field team launched its 2026 indoor season with a strong all-around performance at the TCNJ Lions Invitational on Friday at the Armory Track and Field Center. The Red Foxes posted an event victory, a sweep of personal-best efforts in key mid-distance races, and multiple top-five finishes across the board.
The highlight of the day came in the 500-meter dash, where
Ryan Trocolar surged to victory in 1:03.80, a personal best and the second-fastest time in program history. Marist packed three more runners into the top 15 in the event, as
Simon Advento,
Adam Staffier, and
Jordan Dolansky all delivered strong early-season marks.
The Red Foxes also showcased significant depth in the 400 meters, where
Miracle Okoli (4th),
Amari Mathis (5th, personal best),
Weston LaBrecque (6th), and
Emmanuel Harris (10th, personal best) all produced competitive performances on the Armory oval.
In the middle distances,
Sean Wilson led a tightly bunched Marist group in the 800 meters, placing second in 1:57.08. Four Red Foxes finished in the top 10 in the event. Personal bests continued in the mile, where
Marcel Stewart and
Patrick Wininger finished back-to-back with lifetime marks. The relay squad of Wilson,
Dante Melfi, Stewart, and Wininger capped the track events with a seventh-place finish in the 1,600-meter relay.
In the field events,
Luke Adami placed sixth in the long jump, and freshman
Daniel Vargas cleared 3.95 meters in the pole vault to finish ninth.
The Red Foxes will be back in action on Friday, Jan. 16, when Marist participates in the Gotham Cup
