TAMPA, Florida – The Marist University softball team dropped two games on its first day at the USF Invitational.

In their first game of the day, the Red Foxes fell by a score of 10-7 to Boston College of the Atlantic Coast Conference. Marist then fell to host South Florida, 3-1.

The Red Foxes now stand at 5-6 on the season.

- Boston College scored three runs in the top of the first, all of which were unearned.
- The Eagles added three more in the second, two more in the third, and one more in the fifth to run their lead to 9-0.
- In the bottom of the fifth, Marist kept the game going by scoring five runs, all with two outs. Samantha Rogers drew a bases-loaded walk, which forced home McKenna Manley. Livia Wiltsie and Lily Roumelis both followed with two-run doubles.
- Boston College tacked on its final run in the top of the seventh. Marist answered with two in the bottom half of the inning on Isabella Manory's pinch-hit two-run double.
- Marist finished with eight hits. The freshman trio of Wiltsie, Roumelis, and Annabelle Geiser had two hits apiece. Roumelis had two doubles.
- Anna Sidlowski allowed just one earned run in 4.2 innings of relief.
- For Boston College, Sammy Horn was 3-for-4 with two RBIs.

- South Florida started the scoring with two runs in the home half of the first.
- In the top of the fifth, Marist cut its deficit in half. Livia Wiltsie singled to lead off the inning, and scored on an error.
- South Florida closed out the scoring with an insurance run in the sixth.
- Marist had four hits in the contest, led by Wiltsie with two.
- Stella Blanchard pitched a complete game for the Red Foxes. She scattered six hits, struck out two, and walked just one.
- Alex Wilkes went 2-for-3 with two runs scored and an RBI for South Florida.

- Marist continues play in the USF Invitational with two games on Saturday.
- The Red Foxes will face Saint Joseph's at 11:30 a.m., followed by Indiana at 4:30 p.m.
